    GSST Coordinates "BayWISS Verbundkolleg Digitalisierung"

    06.02.2017

Joint doctoral schools are an excellent means of enhancing research co-operations between Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences. The GSST will coordinate the school on "Digitalisierung", jointly operated by the University of Würzburg, the OTH Regensburg and the FHWS Würzburg-Schweinfurt, but open to doctoral researchers from all Bavarian Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences organized in the "Bavarian Academic Forum" (BayWISS).

On 2 February 2017 the presidents of the University of Würzburg, the OTH Regensburg and the FHWS Würzburg-Schweinfurt put their signatures under the bylaws of the joint doctoral school "BAyWISS Verbundkolleg Digitalisierung", which is now going to recruit doctoral candidates all over Bavaria. The Bavarian State Ministry for Education, Science and the Arts supports this new school financially. While the positions of the young researchers must be funded through their respective home institutions, the doctoral school will offer networking opportunities, coaching, transferable skills and -above all- close co-operation with and supervision by a team of professors from a university and a university of applied sciences on an equal footing with each other.
