The week’s activities begin on Monday with a welcome by our dean followed by a webinar on "Good Scientific Practice" – detailing the conduct expected from every scientist at our university. This is a mandatory course and must be attended before you can graduate, so this is a good opportunity to aleady fulfill this requirement!
In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to meet the Doctoral Researchers Council (DRC) as well as to network and get to know your peers during a "Speed Networking" session.
To get to know the GSLS better, we will continue with an introduction to the GSLS covering the following topics:
- The different phases of a PhD: what to expect, challenges and opportunities
- Your benefit from a structured training programme
- Introduction to the Doctoral Researchers’ Symposium
!ATTENTION! The city tour of Würzburg has to be canceled due to the increasing number of corona infections.
On Tuesday, 9:00am - approx. 4:00pm we will be offering a range of one-day workshops which count towards the requirements of the structured programme.
- Academic writing
- Analysing your market potential as a scientist
- Intercultural communication
- Project management
!ATTENTION! Unfortunately, due to sudden staff shortages, we have to cancel the planned networking activity on Wednesday morning.
From 11:15 - 12:00 there will still be an opportunity to find out more about the GSLS MENTORING program in an elective session.
