Tenth Call for Proposals for the GSH "PROVED" Programme
02/27/2026CALL FOR PROPOSALS of the Graduate School for the Humanities (GSH):
Programme P R O V E D (PRomovierende Organisieren Vorträge Externer Dozierender)
Funds to finance a self-organised face-to-face lecture event by GSH doctoral students
- 10th call for proposals, WS 2025/2026 -
-
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Friday, 27 February 2026.
-
NEW MAXIMUM FUNDING: 400€ (previously: 300€)
Objective:
The Graduate School supports its doctoral students and members as part of its structured "Doctorate with Added Value" programme through a wide range of specially offered and focused support measures.
Within this framework, the GSH would like to give its doctoral students more opportunities to gain initial and independent experience
- in co-operation with each other,
- the acquisition of third-party funding and
- organising their own face-to-face lectures or seminars.
The GSH is therefore already inviting ten calls for proposals from 7 January to 27 February 2026 for funding for a lecture or seminar event organised by current GSH doctoral students. The funds raised will be used to invite external lecturers for such a face-to-face event.
Basic principles:
- Current doctoral students of the Graduate School are eligible to apply;
- at least two doctoral candidates must always submit a joint application, whereby applications from teams from different subject areas are preferred; as the doctoral candidates at GSH are doing their doctorate as part of the interdisciplinary doctoral programme "Humanities" , the subject affiliation of the first supervisor is relevant here;
- two different event formats are possible:
1) a face-to-face lecture or seminar event with a lecturer;
2) a face-to-face lecture event with a lecturer plus a seminar/workshop on the following day; - the maximum limit for the lecture fee/expense allowance or travel and hotel costs is €400 from 2026 (previously: €300)
- the event applied for must be planned for a date in the course of 2026
- If further funds are required for the realisation of the requested event, we recommend cross-financing by other possible donors (chair, Institute, professional society, etc.)
Details & further information:
- The application is kept very simple, an informal application is possible with
- a maximum of two pages A 4 including an overview of the cost and time planning (font size min. 10pt, 1.5 lines);
- a professionally comprehensible justification of why the respective lecturer should be invited;
- a simple cost, planning and implementation plan with details of: Lecture fee, travel and hotel costs, organisational planning (announcements, posters, room planning etc.); - GSH expects the sponsored team to submit a complete cost breakdown and statement of costs as well as a short progress report (max. 1 page A4) no later than four weeks after the event;
- the GSH Extended Board decides on the funding of the applications received;
Applications can only be submitted by email with attached documents
