Method symposium "Methoden & Wege ('Ways & Means', in German) 2026
Interdisciplinary symposium on different working methods in the Humanities.
With contributions by doctoral candidates of the Graduate School.
This event offers our PhD students and others with an interest in the humanities the opportunity, in an informal atmosphere, to discuss the methods used in their respective doctoral research and, of course, to develop their own presentation skills. In our annual survey on quality assurance for our workshop programme, we have repeatedly been told that both members and PhD students regard these methodology workshops in particular as especially important.

Pearl-Sue Carper (Klasse ”Environmental Humanities”): „Die Agency der Hagebutte: Reflexionen zum Forschen mit Pflanzen aus kulturwissenschaftlicher Perspektive."
Johannes Raphael (Klasse ”Altertum, Geschichte und Religion“): „Kritische Diskursanalyse in der Sozialethik. Ein methodischer Zugang zur Analyse entwicklungspolitischer Reden im deutschen Bundestag“.
Sophie Renninger (Klasse „Philosophie, Sprachen, Künste“): „Zwischen Wohnratgeber, Blaupause und Katalog: Kulturwissenschaftliches Arbeiten mit heterogenen Quellen."
- Each report will last 15-20 minutes. We invite you to join us for discussions and conversations in a relaxed atmosphere with drinks and pastries.
- Participation is free.
- This is a GSH SPECIAL EVENT, i.e. anyone interested in the Humanities may attend.
