Environmental Humanities
This class was established on 22 October 2020 by the GSH Extended Board as a new "Research Focus" Class. Compared to the explicitly interdisciplinary and cross-faculty "Cross-Sectional Classes" on which the Graduate School was founded ("Antiquity, History and Religion", "Education and Culture", "Middle Ages and Early Modern Age" and "Philosophy, Languages, Arts"), this newly defined form of our Classes is more topic-related and thus fundamentally smaller; they are represented by a spokesperson on the Extended Board.
The Environmental Humanities provide a research framework that enables the humanities and social sciences to intensify the dialogue with the Natural Sciences and to formulate questions that open up new perspectives on the past, present and future against the backdrop of climate change, dwindling resources and declining biodiversity. Further information can be found on the"Environmental Humanities" website.
On our page here you will find current news, special information on events in this class etc. as soon as they are available to us. We recommend that you visit this page and also our "News" page with information on Graduate School events regularly if you are a member or Doctoral Candidate in this Class of the Graduate School.

- The spokesperson of the class is Prof. Dr. Catrin Gersdorf.
