Study programme per semester
As a rule, the GSH's study programme is structured as follows for each semester:
Compulsory part:
2 SWS courses in the subjects or classes
- Doctoral colloquia.
- Advanced/major seminars.
Compulsory elective part:
1 SWS interdisciplinary and non-subject-specific events offered by the teaching staff in the classes, by the Graduate School Office, other qualification institutions or realised by the doctoral candidates themselves.
- Method workshops.
- Research visits to other institutes / research facilities, especially abroad.
- Special lectures / lecture series.
- Doctoral and professional qualifications, in particular writing skills, teaching qualifications, communication and presentation techniques, academic management, self-management and personnel management etc..
- Attendance of up to two specialised courses outside your own field of research within three years.
