Contemporary Doctorate
Does a doctorate at the Graduate School make sense for me?
Before starting a doctorate in the humanities at the University of Würzburg, prospective doctoral candidates should ask themselves what distinguishes a doctorate at the Graduate School from a doctorate at a faculty.
However, the most important question should first be: "Do I want to, can I, should I do a doctorate or not?" Our brochure "A Doctorate - Make a Conscious Decision and get off to a Good Start" can be particularly helpful here.
If you can answer these questions positively for yourself, and if you have found a first supervisor with us , it may make sense for you to aim for a doctorate in our Graduate School.
Because:
- You will enjoy the advantages of our structured Doctoral Study Programme, in which you can acquire, document and apply additional qualifications.
- You will gain support in an increasingly competitive professional environment with doctoral candidates from other universities that also have graduate schools in the humanities and also offer their doctoral candidates additional qualifications and support.
