Further Admission Extensions
In order to obtain a further extension of admission after your first extension as granted by your doctoral committee, you must submit an informal, reasoned application to the Director (via the GSH Office, please do NOT write directly to the Director) in accordance with § 8 (2) of the Doctoral Degree Regulations in good time before the expiry of your current extension of admission; this is also possible by email (-attachment).
IMPORTANT: This application must be accompanied by a short, informal letter of endorsement from your Doctoral Committee. This can also be sent by email by your Primary Supervisor on behalf of your entire Doctoral Committee; both must be received by us at the latest before the end of the current admission period. In the positive case, this further extension of admission will be granted for up to two semesters.
If you have completed your first six doctoral semesters in our Graduate School and your curriculum, enrolment is no longer mandatory. You can continue your doctoral studies at the Graduate School, provided you remain admitted. You can also take your oral doctoral exam at the Graduate School before your supervisory committee without being enroled; you only need to be admitted to your doctorate at the GSH at the time of your oral exam.
