Title: Green Spaghetti with Meatballs

This platelet-precursor cell (a megakaryocyte) was stained with fluorescent antibodies against tubulin (microtubule marker, green) actin (cytoskeleton, red) and DAPI (nucleus, blue) and it shows the process of "budding" of the platelets from the megakaryocyte. The study of megakaryopoiesis is of major importance as it allows us to study the genesis of platelet contents and understand platelet disorders better.
