Seasonal Get-Together 2019

Get into the festive spirit!

In time for the end of the year, the University of Würzburg Graduate Schools invite all their doctoral researchers for a relaxed evening of sweet dishes, hot beverages and enjoyable socializing. Meet researchers from all areas of research and different background for an inter-cultural seasonal experience.

We will kick the event off with a brief look back at the past year. As you know, this was a particularly tough year for the GSLS with the uncertainty that surrounded the financing and in particular staff contracts. Fortunately, as we approach the end of the year everything is looking much more positive and all staff contracts have been extended, meaning we can continue to function as a graduate school. Back in June we organised a discussion forum to exchange information and ideas regarding the GSLS’s future. As we haven’t had a similar opportunity since, we would like to offer the seasonal get-together as another forum to talk to us and exchange ideas. Apart from anything else, we were overwhelmed with the support that students and PIs offered. So we’d also like to use the seasonal get-together to again thank you for this incredible support.

Afterwards we will move to the festive part with mulled wine (non-alcoholic option also available), cookies and other festive treats. As always we hope that you'll contribute a specialty from your native region so everyone can enjoy an intercultural pot-luck buffet.

When: Friday 29th November 2019, starting at 3pm

Where: Seminar rroom 01.002 – 004 of the RVZ/IMIB/ZINF/HIRI building, Campus Medicine, Building D15, Josef-Schneider-Straße 2, 97080 Würzburg

We would hate to run out of cookies and/or mulled wine, so please register by Wednesday 27th November so we can plan (and go shopping) accordingly!

We also ask you to contribute with a small dish that you associate with the festive season in your home country.

We look forward to seeing you!
